Notes from Owner:
We have a 1970 Shasta Starflyte for sale. Body is 14ft. long. The exterior was resealed and painted a little over a year ago, before we purchased it. A new fridge and AC unit were also put in at that time. We redid the interior of this vintage Shasta camper. Beautiful new wood laminate flooring, fresh paint, new kitchen faucet, new decor, 2 new tires. We had some minor leaking around the ceiling vent, so we replaced it with a new vent. We’ve had no leaks since then, even in heavy rain. We have a second vent with a fan that will go with the camper purchase, but we just haven’t had time to install it. We converted the electrical to 30 amps, so she has plenty of power and plugs in easily at campgrounds. This vintage 1970 Shasta Starflyte also has a brand new cover.
We made a little shower conversion with a galvanized tub and drain in the bathroom and added a propane powered on-demand hot water heater. However, we found that it heats up too much in the bathroom, so we use it to shower outside in a little pop-up changing tent. If we were to keep the Shasta Starflyte, I would probably go to an electric water heater.
The kitchen of the this vintage Shasta camper has the original stove, which has worked for us sometimes and sometimes not. We were planning to pull it out and replace with a burner and microwave, and not have to deal with propane at all.
It sleeps 4-2 at the dinette conversion, and 2 on the gaucho pull out couch. There is a ledge for a bunk, you would just need to add a larger piece of plywood where there is now a small shelf.
We have very much enjoyed her while we’ve had her, but unfortunately, don’t have the time to camp. This 1970 Shasta Starflyte would be great for a young family or a couple that does have time to camp.
